Tis the last rose of summer
Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone;
No flower of her kindred，
No rose bud is nigh，
To reflect back her blushes，
Or give sigh for sigh.
Ill not leave thee， thou lone one！
To pine on the stem;
Since the lovely are sleeping，
Go， sleep thou with them.
Thus kindly I scatter，
Thy leaves oer the bed，
Where thy mates of the garden
Lie scentless and dead.
So soon may I follow，
When friendships decay，
And from Loves shining circle
The gems drop away.
When true hearts lie withered，
And fond ones are flown，
O！ who would inhabit
This bleak world alone？
这是夏日的最后一朵玫瑰
留下来孤独地绽放;
她所有可爱的同伴
都已凋落残逝;
没有同族的花朵，
也没有玫瑰苞蕾在旁，
映襯她红晕的脸庞，
或嗟叹她的感伤。
我不会离开你，孤独的你！
让你在枝头憔悴;
既然可爱的同伴已安眠，
去吧，与他们一同入睡。
我把你的叶瓣
温柔地散落花坛，
那也是你花园中的同伴
无声无息躺着的地方。
不久我也可能追随我朋友而去，
当友谊渐逝，
像从灿烂的爱情圈中
掉落的宝石。
当忠诚的友人远去，
所爱的人飞走，
啊！谁还愿
把这苍凉的世界独守？

托马斯·穆尔（1779—1852），爱尔兰杰出的爱国主义诗人，备受爱尔兰人的尊重。他的诗歌抒发了强烈的爱国热情。
